A 23 story residential tower in the prestigious Jardins neighborhood of São Paulo, Indigo is situated between a large scale commercial boulevard to the east and a smaller residential community to the west.

Davis Brody Bond was asked by the client to design a new façade system and envelope for an existing project. We started by rationalizing the pre-approved structural scheme and the organization of the different building elements and then proposed a curtain wall system that took advantage of unobstructed views of the neighborhood.

The façade’s structural elements were designed to change the perception of the building’s size, scaling down the large tower into smaller elements more in keeping with the surrounding residential neighborhood. By superimposing the façade’s structural frame to the existing volume we were able to give it new proportions and a stronger visual impact.
