SPACESMITH

Founded in 1998 and headquartered in New York City with a second office in Hudson, NY, Spacesmith LLP is a New York City and State registered Women-owned Business Enterprise (WBE) specializing in architecture, planning, and interior design. The name Spacesmith reflects the historic tradition of great craftsmanship — a drive to deliver a level of service, a passion for excellence, and a sincere respect for context and the environment.

Projects created by Spacesmith embrace sophisticated solutions that are timeless and contextual. Specializing in interior renovation and adaptive reuse for academic, private and public sector clients, Spacesmith takes pride in bringing industry expertise, knowledge of industry trends, and excellence in innovation, design, communication, and execution to each project. Recent projects include dramatic new office spaces at Hudson Yards for MarketAxess and Boies Schiller Flexner; academic and residential spaces for Columbia University, New York University, and the School of Visual Arts; the new headquarters of Abrams Books; and 10 Halletts Point, a new mixed-use residential development on the burgeoning Queens waterfront.

Distinguished by a unique combination of large-firm capabilities and boutique-firm service, Spacesmith has built an impressive and loyal clientèle through continuous creativity and simple, elegant, and enduring design solutions. Our team is committed to providing efficient, comfortable, and inspiring spaces. Davis Brody Bond has worked closely with Spacesmith on countless recent and current projects — from NYU’s Paulson Center, to the US Embassy in Mexico City, to NYC’s new Irish Arts Center — and the two collaborative firms are seamlessly integrated in our New York office at One New York Plaza.
