The Health Sciences Learning Center at the University of Wisconsin was designed to support recent and evolving changes in student learning, medical research, clinical practice, and information technology and media. It serves a broad constituency of patients and families, students, clinicians, and researchers, and is part of a statewide outreach program. As part of its mission, it administers many learning resources in the building, including distance learning classrooms, seminar and group study facilities, computer laboratories and support, specialized suites for clinical skills, education and testing, administrative offices, a 350-seat auditorium, and four lecture halls. Additionally, the new Learning Center’s central atrium acts as a marketplace or plaza for students, practitioners, patients and faculty using the resources of the building.
